We still have to add some more compost and bunny poops (only from certified happy bunnies of course) to the beds before the plants and new seeds can go in.
Carried in about four wheelbarrows full of dirt from the "sort of compost pile" (it's more of a pile of general yard debris, leaves, grass cuttings, pine needles, potting soil, etc and so forth.) over to the new bed. The earth actually looks fabulous and has some of the biggest worms ever!
We also managed to clean out the potting shed and make it useable! yay! Himself cleaned and reorganized the garage....amazing.
Monkey came by to help us. She got delightfully dirty! she is really looking forward to her own garden spot. she has her very own tools now and her own little garden carry-cubby (i graduated to a bigger one...and Himself found all my tools that i tend to leave scattered about so that i can find them again).
I could not convince her to eat a worm, however, much to her mother's dismay, i did get her to lick an assortment of rocks! go me.
she helped out with the beds too. She took all my old pots from the potting shed and dumped the soil into the garden to get mixed in with the leaf mulch and other matter that is going to spruce up the soil.
The sunflowers out front are still growing like gangbusters! i need to wait for secondary leaves to appear before i can tell which are my pumpkins lol. I think the nice sunflowers above the pumpkins will look fabulous this summer/fall.
